Asian Symphony

In 1856 ships from the United States landed on the shores of Japan. The resulting culture clash has actually not ended to this day. (Having lived and worked in Japan I can definitely say that while the Japanese love Western culture, they do not like Americans.)

This music is my attempt to represent that initial 19th century culture clash through music. I have blended Western musical traditions with the often atonal Asian musical traditions.
